Exhibitions have long been the premium marketing platform for business of all shapes and sizes. Just like the exhibitors, visitors are there to engage with the brands on show. So what makes exhibitions such a superb marketing platform? Top reasons include lead generation, the ability to raise brand awareness and reinforce your messaging, establishing new prospects and sales, building customer loyalty, launching products or services, market research and checking out the competition. With more than 5000 companies exhibiting at World Travel Market 2011 there is no better opportunity for visitors to meet their suppliers and develop new business relationships face-to-face. Featuring internationally renowned exhibitors, world class industry speakers and visited by top travel industry professionals WTM 2011 was not to be missed. 6th of November was the first day just for press and I was there for something very important. Although I have been attending World Travel Market for three years today it was very special for me. I was excited for Turkey’s official press presentation, Turkey will be teaming up premiership football club Liverpool FC.
The Turkish Ministry of The Turkish Culture and Tourism outlined the partnership as the first of kind for Turkey in the UK and will include advertising rights and other tourism and awareness benefits,
Tolga Tuyluoglu Director of the Turkish Culture and Tourism Office in London said: “I am delighted that Turkey will be an official partner to such a historic club. I am sure that all Liverpool fans will have positive associations with Turkey already, following their dramatic Champions League win in Istanbul in 2005. We hope to build on this to create a dynamic partnership.”
He continued “The city of Liverpool s known for its music and culture, its world- class galleries, museums and landmarks, which of course provides a body of shared values for us to work with. Over one quarter of those taking package – holidays to Turkey do so from North West of England so this area is very important to Turkey. Of course, the fact that Liverpool FC plays in red and white is a bonus too!”
